Description
The Roman de Renart in French verse. The manuscript is extensively illustrated with 513 small (column width) full color paintings. The drawings are colorful but crudely executed. An oddity in most illustrations shows the animals standing on the hind legs with their forelegs stretched out in front of them like arms.
This is the manuscript designated I by Ernest Martin.
Alternate shelfmark: Supplément français 98-14.
