Description

The bestiary is on folios 1r-100r. This is the Liber de Bestiis et Aliis rebus mistakenly attributed to Hugh of Saint Victor. It includes Books I, II and III.

This work is that published with the above title [Liber de Bestiis et Aliis rebus] under the name of Hugo de S. Victore. The arrangement in the present MS. is very different from that of the printed edition. It contains the first three books, and a large appendix on trees. There are many references in the work to S. Isidorus, Etymologies lib. xii. which do not appear in the printed copies. The illustrations are curious.
